Ryan D. Macht
Dr. Ryan D. Macht is an assistant professor of surgery and a minimally invasive and bariatric surgeon at the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Macht received his bachelors in the biological basis of behavior from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006. In 2011 he graduated from NYU School of Medicine and began his general surgery residency at Boston University Medical Center. During his residency academic development time he completed a two-year research fellowship while also obtaining a Master of Science in health services research from Boston University School of Public Health. After finishing general surgery residency in 2018 he went on to the minimally invasive and bariatric fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. He is the author of more than a dozen publications focused on quality improvement and patient safety across a variety of surgical fields in a wide variety of journals, including the Journal of Surgical Education, the Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, the Journal of Arthroplasty, Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases, Obesity Surgery, the Joint Commission Journal of Quality and Patient Safety, the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, and JAMA Surgery.
